INTERNATIONAL ELITE BLACK MRS 2009

TISHEMA MILLER

Tishema Miller, “Sheema” as she is affectionately known to family and friends is originally a native of New Haven, Connecticut. She relocated to the state of Maryland in 1985 along with her two sisters following the death of their mother. Following her mom's prompting before her death, Tishema began to learn about the gift of music. Having great strength instilled in her through her mom and grandmother, she pursued perfecting the talent that her family was known for throughout the years; singing.

Musically, Tishema has had the opportunity to grace many stages by the many opportunities presented to her. She attributes being greatly influenced by such great artists who have paved the way; Donny Hathaway, Kirk Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Ce Ce Winans and Yolanda Adams to name a few. She has collaborated and recorded with artists throughout her musical career. Tishema been an advocate for promoting strength, and uplifting people through her musical endeavors.

Throughout her journey of discovery she found a new interest that became a new focus. Because of a very strong interest in modeling since she was a little girl, participating in pageants became a natural thing for her. She was introduced to her first pageant experience in 1990. Her very first pageant was called The Miss Missions Pageant of the Churches of God in Christ. It was a pageant sponsored by the church, allowing the young person who would win to represent themselves as a Junior missionary overseas in one of the various selected missions areas. She was crowned Miss Missions 1990.

It was a great learning experience because it allowed her to spend weeks in Brazil assisting with Brazilian youth and their church. Upon attending college, she later went on to compete in the Miss Black and Gold Pageant where she was the first runner up.

After taking a break from pageantry for several years, she began to pursue other things in her life. She is now married to her wonderful king, Delaneo Miller, and they have three beautiful princes, Daniel(6) and Jaanai (4) Benjamin (1) and one beautiful princess Taylor (2) of which she is very proud of.

Now married, she has been introduced to the world of pageantry for married women. She competed in two Mrs. Pageants where she represented her prospective areas as: Mrs. Anacostia DC America 2007 (as a finalist) and Mrs. Central Maryland 2004. In 2008, she won the title of Mrs. DC Christian United States and was later crowned Mrs. Christian United States 2009. Her most recent accomplishment is indeed an honor to carry the title of 2009 International Elite Black Mrs.

Throughout this pageantry experience, it has been her desire to educate, promote awareness, and help strengthen the bonds of family. She recognizes that real wealth is being whole within oneself. Her platform and mission is to educate women and girls on staying healthy, mind, body, soul and spirit so that they may pass on a legacy of wealth to their families.

Tishema is an accomplished vocalist, speaker, artist and soon to be author, currently working on her first book which should be completed later this year.
